Catcalling is completely different for females for two reasons:
1. Females lack physical strength (If you are male, imagine being catcalled in prison by a guy much bigger than you. That's why catcalling can often feel threatening to women.)
2. Males are defined by a strategy of producing many small and cheap gametes, while females are defined by a strategy of producing expensive gametes. Females have to spend much more energy and time on pregnancy. This makes them much more selective in their choice of mate (If you are male, imagine that 95% of all females were obese and so badly groomed that the smell of sour sweat and yeast bloomed in the folds of their skin. That’s why catcalling can often feel very annoying to women.).
