It’s Like GPT-3 but for Code—Fun, Fast, and Full of Flaws: “Nine months after Copilot’s launch, tens of thousands of programmers have tried out the software. I spoke to 15 coders who’ve used it, and most, like Aboukhadijeh, found that it dramatically accelerates their pace—even as they were sometimes freaked out by how good it is. (‘Just mind-blowing,’ as Mike Krieger, who coded the original Instagram, put it.)” [Wired] https://archive.is/RL8Rc

If you let your fear of nuclear war dominate your response you can as well hand over the world to Russia and China right now. There need to be red lines.
Try that strategy in prison. If you refuse to fight over an apple out of fear that you will be hurt then you will lose everything. How much you care about the apple is irrelevant. Even a rotten apple is worth defending because it's not the apple that you defend but your status. Are you a victim or a victor?
But defending yourself and minding your own business is not enough. You need to be proactive and defend your interests. Your enemies are constantly plotting to overpower you. If you allow them to gain the strength to do so you will lose. You need to stop them before that happens.
Intervening to prevent your enemies from taking over the world is necessary for self-preservation.
This is why NATO should firmly commit to actively supporting Ukraine if China intervenes on behalf of Russia. Giving Putin exclusive rights to make threats is a very bad idea.
